Expert Witness

Numerous and various factors including weather conditions, roadway surface, vehicle condition and maintenance, driver selection and hiring, driver training, load securement, driver experience and skill, the actions of other vehicles, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), state and local laws, and other factors as applicable are studied to determine the causes of crashes, and what could have been done to prevent them. Material reviewed often will include police reports, witness statements, the statements of the involved parties, photographs, reconstruction reports and materials, and deposition transcripts. Site visits are also performed when necessary.

DLH provides expert analysis of commercial driver behavior and driving techniques. Knowing what drivers are trained to do, and what actions are appropriate in specific situations as well as knowing common errors and mistakes sometimes made by drivers helps in establishing whether a driver’s actions were appropriate and correct.
